Railroading 

A style of game mastering in which players are steered toward a predetermined path with little room for alternative choices. The story proceeds along a fixed sequence of events, even if player decisions suggest different directions. Railroading can maintain tight narrative structure, but often reduces agency and makes the game feel constrained.
