Metagaming

Using information that the character cannot reasonably know, but the player does, to influence in-game decisions. It often appears when out-of-character knowledge affects tactics, choices or reactions during a session. Metagaming can break immersion and distort narrative stakes, since actions stop reflecting the character’s perspective and start reflecting the player’s external awareness.
